Duration: 01.06.2026 – 30.06.2027
Financed by: Nordic Council of Ministers, as part of the Prosperous Future programme
The project “Women in green solidarity” aims to address ongoing issues of unemployment, gender inequality, and psychological trauma in Ukraine. Specifically, this project aims to further implement the Green Recovery Plan for the Ukrainian part of the Baltic Sea Basin, prepared by the Coalition Clean Baltic, with a focus on war veterans and veterans’ wives and support them in developing their skills and knowledge in organic agriculture and facilitating psychological recovery through agriculture-related practices. This will help address the gender gaps in the agricultural sector, which is particularly relevant during martial law where labor shortages in key sectors could threaten security, as well as in the context of Ukraine’s 2022 State Strategy for Equal Rights emphasizes gender equality.
The objectives of the project are:
• the development of vocational competences, ecotherapy and nature-based regeneration, using
organic agriculture as a platform for the psychological rehabilitation of groups affected by war
(veterans, women, youth, internally displaced persons).
• to promote gender equality by ensuring the active participation of women (female veterans, or
their wives) in traditionally male-dominated sectors, such as agriculture.
• to help people affected by war to stabilize after the traumatic war experiences.
The activities in the project include:
• A study trip to selected organic farms Poland
• Workshops in Ukraine on organic farming
• Vocational workshops in Poland to an organic farm
• Dissemination and final conference.
The lead partner of the project is the Polish Ecological Club in Gliwice (Poland), and the project partners are: Coalition Clean Baltic (Sweden) and Ecoterra (Ukraine).
